sad but true

Well before u read my blog, I strongly recommend you go and watch 'Mumbai meri jaan'..this movie is the inspiration behind this post..and after a long time I have seen such a relevant film..as the name suggests, the movie is about Mumbai but can very well generalized to whole of India..5 stories run parallel in the movie.. it's about the blasts taking place in local trains last year and how common man got affected by it..be it a poor guy who wants to feel powerful(could be by making hoax call of a bomb to panic people) or a white collared job guy who wants to leave India and don't want to travel in local trains again,or a common man who thinks Muslims are always behind such blasts and thus making prejudices against the race,or a reporter who always used to make some story out of anything and when lost her lover got to know how it feels when a journalist ask you such a dumb question after a loss "aapko kaisa lag raha hai?".. and the last story was on a Mumbai policeman(Paresh Rawal) and the way he delivered the dialogs and conveyed message across the viewer is appreciable..
Movie beautifully depicted the media and how do they make stories and do anything to get them which make their TRP's high..'Rupali bani Rudali' was one such example shown(Rupali being the reporter who lost her fiance)..Seriously kabhi kabhi thappad maarne ka man krta hai TV channels walo ko..well cursing media will take a whole day for me to write..even we are equally responsible because after all media exploits our mentality but let me discuss this all sometime later..Also the sensitivity of a poor guy living in slums and dilemma of a middle class man whether he should go abroad or not and the prejudices we make solely on the basis of religion and how wrong can they be ,have been displayed wonderfully
I was in Bangalore when the blasts took place last month .. One thing I have understood is that this is amongst those things that we don't have control on..It can happen anywhere and you can't help it.. And neither you can run from it..you can't just sit at home and 'feel safe'..At the end of the day, local train is the most convenient way to travel,so you'll go by it..life moves on and you can just be more vigilant and hope it doesn't happen again..that's it..SAD BUT TRUE..

PS:Me and my friend were planning to see 'Phoonk', glad that we did not get the tickets and saw this instead :) ..
